Long term, heavy cannabis users beware as ‘scromiting’ may be in your future. ‘Scromiting’ is the uncontrollable vomiting and screaming associated with prolonged heavy cannabis use which is now sending its victims to emergency rooms across the United States.
According to an article in the UK’s Daily Mail, “The condition, called Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome (CHS) is not yet properly understood” and that “Medical experts believe the symptoms appear from individuals using or consuming heavy amounts of marijuana over a long period of time.”
There has not been a lot of research done on Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome (CHS) but according to the few studies available including one listed at the National Center for Biotechnology Information, a user would need to consume cannabis 3 to 5 times a day for a period of about three and a half years. It is also widely believed that doctors have know about ‘scromiting’ since 2004.
A 48 year old named Chalfonte LeNee Queen told NPR that she “screamed out for death” after suffering an episode of Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome. Queen also said, “I cried out for my mom, who's been dead for 20 years, mentally not realizing she can't come to me.'
"For 17 years, Chalfonte LeNee Queen suffered periodic episodes of violent retching and abdominal pain that would knock her off her feet for days, sometimes leaving her writhing on the floor in pain."
I think we need to know more about this one kids.
