(18+) *LEGAL MEDICAL CANNABIS PATIENT*
And as is customary on The Johno Show we light up before counting down!! So let’s do it!!
Now before we even begin let’s take a little quiz. What does OG stand for? Is it:
Memorial to Overgrown.com, which before 2006 was the largest cannabis grow site but was shut down by Canadian police for “illegally distributing seeds.”
“Original Gangster” a strain from the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles.
Ocean Grown, when the grower told a friend it was grown up in the mountains the friend smelled the bud and responded “This Kush isn’t mountain grown, its Ocean Grown Kush, Bro!”
The truth is no one knows.
Fact Number 5: History & Lineage
OG Kush is so mired in myth that almost anything I say in these facts is conjecture. In fact, no one is complete sure where the mixture of strains come from. Some believe it’s a three-way cross between Lemon Thai, Chemdawg, and Old World Paki Kush. While others believe OG Kush was parented by Chemdawg and Hindu Kush. No matter what the origin story, OG Kush became widely popular in 1995 and its popularity hasn’t subsided.
Fact Number 4: Positive vs Negative Effects
OG Kush is not for beginners. The high starts with a sudden headrush that may lead users to feel more focused on their surroundings. Sounds and colors may also intensify and the strain can then lead to a super high level of euphoria and relaxation which is quickly followed by sleepiness and couch-lock.
Medically this strain is good for body ailments, chronic migraines, bipolar disorders, anxiety, depression, vomiting and stomach issues. Medical patients have had a lot of success when dealing with migraines, ADD/ADHD, and stress disorders.
There are some significant side effects however beyond just the regular dry mouth and dry eyes, which include paranoia, dizziness and anxiousness.
Fact Number 3: Sativa vs Indica & THC/CBD Levels
So here is another area where there is tons of conjecture. Is OG Kush a sativa or an indica. It depends on who you ask but it’s definitely a hybrid.
Many believe OG Kush is Sativa Dominant with 55% Sativa to 45% Indica. While others believe the 55% belongs to the Indica side of the bud.
Regardless the THC is at 24% and there is even 1% CBN.
Fact Number 2: Appearance, Smell & Taste
OG Kush Flavors are Earthy and Woody with an overall Pine smell and undertones of sour lemon. The buds look almost neon green with heavy resinous crystallization leaving fingers super sticky.
Fact Number 1: You Gotta Smoke It to Know It!
So how do we feel?
